If the ambient temperature is low, the plasma can transmit energy to the wall through radiation and heat conduction, therefore, in order to keep the plasma state in the laboratory, the generator must supply more energy than the plasma loses. Many methods of artificially producing plasmas (such as explosions, shock waves, etc.) produce plasma states that can only last for a short time (about 10-10 seconds), while plasma states with industrial applications are maintained for a longer period (minutes to dozens of hours). The main methods of producing the latter plasma are: DC arc discharge method, alternating current frequency discharge method, High-frequency induction discharge method, low pressure discharge method (such as glow discharge method) and combustion method. The first four discharges are obtained by electrical means, while combustion is obtained by means of chemical methods.
